What is Eurojackpot?
Eurojackpot holds its draws twice a week in Helsinki, Finland at 21:00 EET or EEST (depending on the season) on Tuesdays and Fridays.
A single line currently costs €2 with the maximum jackpot set at €120,000,000.
With seven numbers to choose and 12 separate prize tiers, Eurojackpot gives you a lot of freedom and different ways to win prizes.
Eurojackpot prize tier stats
Eurojackpot works by picking five numbers between 1 and 50 plus two “Euro numbers” between 1 and 12.
With different lottery laws across the participating countries, it can be quite hard to predict exactly how much each prize tier, apart from the jackpot, will be worth.
Since the official Eurojackpot website doesn’t list prize tier breakdowns in advance and we will be looking at playing Eurojackpot at LotteryWorld, we will take their numbers:
Matches (+ Euro numbers) | Prize | Odds of Winning |
---|---|---|
5 + 2 | Jackpot | 1 in 139,838,160 |
5 + 1 | 8.5% of prize fund | 1 in 6,991,908 |
5 + 0 | 3% | 1 in 3,107,515 |
4 + 2 | 1% | 1 in 621,503 |
4 + 1 | 0.9% | 1 in 31,075 |
3 + 2 | 0.6% | 1 in 14,125 |
4 + 0 | 0.7% | 1 in 13,811 |
2 + 2 | 3.1% | 1 in 985 |
3 + 1 | 3% | 1 in 706 |
3 + 0 | 4.3% | 1 in 314 |
1 + 2 | 7.8% | 1 in 188 |
2 + 1 | 19.1% | 1 in 49 |
After awarding all the above listed prize tiers, there is 12% of the prize fund remaining. This 12% is used to guarantee the advertised jackpot amount can be paid.
